VIENNA SUMMER MUSIC FESTIVAL (VSMF)

Pretium Music, in partnership with Vienna Summer Music Festival (VSMF), as a young artist training program, offer opportunities for aspiring singers and instrumentalists to perform under the Vocal Arts or Orchestra Program.

The Vienna Summer Music Festival aims to provide its participants with the highest quality of instruction taught by renowned faculty from such institutions as the Vienna State Opera, Vienna Philharmonic, and Vienna Symphony.

There are three major programs.

PROGRAM 1: OPERA INSTITUTE

The Opera Institute gives singers the experience of performing professional-level opera on stage with a full orchestra. Participants work with renowned faculty, conductors, stage directors, and coaches from the world’s leading institutions. While being immersed in Viennese culture, students take regular voice lessons, participate in masterclasses, lectures, vocal coaching, and acting seminars.

PROGRAM 2: ARTIST IGNITE

The Artist Ignite! Professional Development Program is a unique, two week- intensive workshop focused on bringing the best artist within you, out, and presenting it to the world at the highest calibre. Geared toward advanced artists who are ready to begin their professional careers, each young artist of the Ignite! program will work in collaboration with a team of world class teachers, coaches, and professionals to:

• Present and polish audition repertoire

• Create an individual and personal brand

• Build and update your artist website, resume, and press kit including new headshots taken in the city of Vienna

• Create a video of the aria that best represents you

• Gain knowledge and practical information about opera careers in Europe

• Present yourself to European Agents

• Perform in a Gala Concert with Orchestra in Vienna

• Perform in regular masterclasses

• Build mindfulness and wellness tools to help you stay steady and focused on your artistic path

PROGRAM 3: ORCHESTRA

Eligible participants will play in the orchestra for the operas we are producing which include Die Fledermaus and Il Trittico. Participants will perform in one of the operas. Additionally, members of the orchestra will receive 4 private lessons on their primary instrument and one masterclass with members of the Vienna Philharmonic and Vienna Symphoniker.
